1 · Who we are
AI for Public Good ("we", "us", "the Site operator") is an independent, non-commercial, open initiative that publishes evidence summaries and interactive policy-illustration tools concerning artificial intelligence and energy systems. The Site is a static website: it has no user accounts, sells nothing, and processes no payments.
2 · Terms of use
2.1 Acceptance
By accessing or using the Site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Site.
2.2 Informational purpose only
The Site is provided for general information, education, research and public-policy discussion. Nothing on the Site constitutes — or should be relied upon as — legal, financial, investment, tax, engineering, procurement, regulatory, tariff-setting, or other professional advice, nor an offer, solicitation, or recommendation of any kind. You should obtain appropriate professional advice before acting on anything you read or compute here.
2.3 No reliance
You acknowledge that any use of, or reliance upon, the Site's content or the outputs of its interactive tools is at your own risk, and that decisions with legal, financial, technical or policy consequences require independent verification against primary sources and professional counsel.
2.4 Acceptable use
- You may view, share, quote, adapt and reuse Site content in accordance with the licences in section 6.
- You must not present the Site, its outputs, or any adaptation of them as an official publication of, or as endorsed by, the United Nations, the International Energy Agency, the Government of India, or any organisation or company named on the Site.
- You must not misrepresent modelled or illustrative outputs as measured data, audited results, or official determinations.
- You must not use the Site in any way that violates applicable law, or attempt to disrupt the Site or its hosting infrastructure.
2.5 Third-party content and links
The Site summarises, cites and links to third-party publications and websites. Those materials belong to their respective owners, are governed by their own terms, and are outside our control. A citation or link is not an endorsement — in either direction.
2.6 No warranty
The Site and all content and tools are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, warranties of accuracy, completeness, currency, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. Underlying data sources may change, be corrected, or become outdated without our knowledge.
2.7 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary loss or damage of any kind (including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or policy or investment outcomes) arising from or in connection with your access to, use of, inability to use, or reliance on the Site or its outputs — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or otherwise — even if advised of the possibility of such damage. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
2.8 Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Site or violation of these terms.
2.9 Changes; severability; entire terms
We may amend the Site and these notices at any time; the "last updated" date above governs. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect. These notices are the entire terms for use of the Site.
2.10 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana shall have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer or data-protection rights you hold in your own jurisdiction.
3 · Disclaimers
Most deployment figures on this Site are self-reported by the deploying organisations and were screened — not independently audited — by the publications that carry them. The IEA/IndiaAI casebook's own disclaimer places responsibility for data accuracy with the submitting authors. We reproduce such figures in good faith, with attribution, and without independent verification.
3.1 Non-affiliation and non-endorsement
AI for Public Good is an independent initiative. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of: the United Nations or any of its bodies or sessions (references to venues or sessions are factual context only); the International Energy Agency (IEA); the Government of India or any of its ministries or missions (including the IndiaAI Mission, MeitY, MNRE, or the Ministry of Power); or any company, utility or organisation named on the Site (including, without limitation, those featured in cited case studies). All references are for identification, citation and commentary.
3.2 Trademarks
All product names, company names, logos and marks referenced on the Site are the property of their respective owners. Use on this Site is nominative — for identification and citation only — and implies no association.
3.3 Sustainable Development Goals
Statements that the Site "supports the aims of" SDG 7, 9 and 13 describe our intent and subject-matter alignment only. They do not imply United Nations affiliation, endorsement, or certification, and we do not use UN or SDG logos.
3.4 Forward-looking statements
Projections quoted on the Site (for example, data-centre demand to 2030 or savings potential to 2035) are the cited organisations' scenario-based estimates, subject to significant uncertainty. They are not predictions or guarantees, by them or by us.
3.5 Not a substitute for primary sources
Summaries condense and paraphrase. For any consequential purpose, consult the primary documents listed in section 6.
4 · Simulator & modelled-output disclaimer
The Site's "digital twin" simulators (energy balance, bill impact, grid flexibility, and any similar tools) are policy illustrations. They are deliberately simplified models with user-adjustable, openly disclosed assumptions. In particular:
- Outputs are illustrative orders of magnitude, not engineering studies, load-flow analyses, tariff determinations, rate cases, or financial projections.
- Coefficients derive from the self-reported deployment figures described above; infrastructure-cost inputs are presented as wide, jurisdiction-dependent ranges.
- Stylised curves (for example, daily demand and solar profiles) are archetypes, not measurements of any actual grid.
- Generated "term sheets" are drafting aids for discussion. They are not contracts, offers, regulatory filings, or legal instruments, and create no rights or obligations for anyone.
- Results depend entirely on the inputs you choose. Do not present outputs as findings about any actual facility, utility, or jurisdiction without independent professional analysis.
5 · Privacy policy
We collect nothing. No accounts, no forms, no cookies set by us, no analytics, no ads, no fingerprinting. The only storage used is a single session flag in your own browser so the intro animation doesn't replay — it never leaves your device.
5.1 Data we collect
None. The Site is a static website. We do not collect, store, process, sell or share personal data. There are no user accounts, no contact forms, no newsletters, no embedded trackers, and no advertising or analytics scripts.
5.2 Local storage
The Site sets one sessionStorage value in your browser (a flag noting the intro animation has played, plus any simulator inputs you adjust, which live only in the page while it is open). This information is stored on your device only, is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and is cleared by your browser automatically. No consent banner is required for strictly functional local storage of this kind, and we show none.
5.3 Hosting
The Site is served by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). Like any web host, GitHub may log technical request data (such as IP addresses) for security and operational purposes; that processing is governed by GitHub's own privacy documentation, not by us, and we have no access to identifying visitor logs. See GitHub's General Privacy Statement and its Pages data-collection notes.
5.4 External links
Links to third-party sites (for example, iea.org or github.com) lead to services with their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for them.
5.5 Children
The Site is general-audience informational content and collects no data from anyone, including children.
5.6 Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or erase. If you believe otherwise, contact us (section 7) and we will respond promptly. You may also clear your browser's local storage at any time.
5.7 Changes
If the Site ever begins collecting any data (for example, an optional contact form or submission feature), this policy will be updated first, with the change reflected in the "last updated" date above.

6.1 Third-party sources used
